Lagos Fashion and Design Week (LFDW) is a multi day fashion event platform that aims to drive the Nigerian and ultimately, the African fashion industry; by bringing together buyers, consumers and the media to view the current collections of African designers in the fashion capital of Lagos, Nigeria.
As a leading fashion event on the African fashion calendar, LFDW leads the way with initiatives that support, strengthen and develop the fashion industry. Beyond the runway, the annual event provides a physical platform that’s gradually repositioning fashion as a useful tool for commerce and creativity in Nigeria.
This year marks the 5th anniversary of Lagos Fashion and Design Week; a dynamic initiative that remains dedicated to the growth and promotion of creative in the industry. An integral part of the platform is LFDW Fashion Focus, a joint collaborative effort of Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week in partnership with British Council, continues to reward and present opportunities for emerging talents to harness their skills and ensure they sustain a global presence to a wider audience.
LFDW Fashion Focus is identified through its exceptional creative workshops and mentorship capacity building programs, inclusive of professional business development as a tool to facilitate innovation, growth and commerce.
Selected finalists will be offered opportunities to participate in targeted workshops and exhibit their collection in front of a select audience at the Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2015 showcase from October 28th – October 31st, 2015.
This ties in with British Council’s ongoing work to empower creative through high-quality events and collaborations that link artists and cultural institutions in Nigeria with their counterparts in the UK.
